If you’re having trouble deciding what to do first, take your time thinking about it in the many shops, restaurants and bars. If you’ve knackered yourself out on a jet ski, either head back to the beach or wander around some of the ancient sites which the current day resort has been built around.
If you have kids, chances are they won’t be enthusiastic about being dragged around partially broken ancient columns and antiquities from shipwrecks, so treat them to a day out at the theme and water parks along the peninsula.
If you love exploring the culture and want to see something more ancient than the Bodrum Castle, head to the remains of the Bodrum Mausoleum which is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. The Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology at the Castle area is a collection of fascinating relics from the lives of ancient shipwrecked mariners, with glassware, copper ware and gold items from the ship on display.
Boat trips, Turkish Baths and huge markets are also on offer here, the latter providing the chance to haggle for clothes made from local fabrics, kilims, carpets, mosaic lanterns, onyx vases and plenty of Turkish delight.
Having a refreshing dip in a traditional Turkish bath, followed by a massage, body scrub, aromatherapy massage or oil massage is one of the special indulgences that everyone is allowed to treat themselves to while on their holidays.

Stroll along the Bodrum town center
Bodrum city center can be explored by the market zone and the pedestrian shopping street and Bar Street on the inland and Marina and Bodrum Castle zone on the coast, through the beautiful views of the resort’s stunning bay.
Bodrum Castle (St.Peter)
Bodrum Castle is an impressive medieval castle built by the Knights of the Rhodes guards the entrance to the resort’s dazzling blue bay. It is a magnificent structure on the waterfront, is over 600 years old and is a superb example of a Gothic style stronghold, where you can walk around the twisting passageways and towers designed to make the castle as difficult as possible for invaders to take. Bodrum Mausoleum Museum
For the ones who love exploring the culture and want to see something more ancient than the famous Bodrum Castle, than head out to the remains of the Bodrum Mausoleum Museum, also known as the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, which is one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
Completed around 350 B.C., it was 140 feet high with a 24 step pyramid and chariot on top, and each side was decorated with friezes of battle scenes between the Greeks and Amazons. Not much has been left remaining after it was destroyed between 1000 A.D. and 1400 A.D., but you can see the foundations and a collection of the many battle scene friezes, which are on display next to the remains. Bodrum Marina Yacht Club
The Marina Yacht Club is a famous entertainment and nightlife center in the town center overlooking the port and the historical Castle.
It provides great views of the sea and the castle. The Marina Yacht Club is open for all year round and also the only facility that offers live music performances every day during the year. You’ll find 3 restaurants and 4 bars here.
Bodrum Bar Street
Bodrum Bar Street, is the center of the intense nightlife in the resort and has the largest and most extravagant nightclubs. The famous Hadigari Bar is the first bar that was opened here.
Any night on the Bar Street is also a great opportunity to try out some of the local culture by ordering a Turkish Raki drink, but be warned (or pleasantly surprised) that this drink is 45% alcohol, so playing centurion with it is not advised. The entertainment and nightlife here goes till dawn.
