An e-Visa is an official document that permits entry into and travel within Turkey. In addition, the e-Visa is an alternative to visas issued at the Turkish missions and at the ports of entry to Turkey. Note that e-Visa is only valid when the purpose of travel is tourism or commerce.
Notice: Turkey has announced that it will abolish entry visas for the nationals of five Schengen Countries and the UK, in a bid to further develop tourism potential, in addition to enhancing commercial, economic and cultural relations with these countries.
So, the citizens of Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the UK will soon be able to travel to Turkey visa-free for short-term trips for tourism purposes.

“As of 2 March 2020, Turkey has decided to exempt visa requirements for the members of the European Union Schengen area, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland as well as the United Kingdom citizens for touristic travels to Turkey for every 90 days within 180-day periods”
Passport Requirements for Turkey Holidays
Before traveling to Turkey, it’s important to ensure that your passport is up-to-date and valid for at least six months beyond the date of your departure from Turkey. It’s also important to have at least one blank page in your passport for entry and exit stamps.
If you need to renew your passport, be sure to do so well in advance of your trip. In general, it’s best to have at least six months left on your passport before it expires, as some airlines and countries may not allow entry if your passport is due to expire within six months.
